Trip Overview

Bhutan Kingdom Tour is a tour in Bhutan, a country also known as the Land of a Thunder Dragon and has rich culture and beautiful landscapes. During the tour, we come face-to-face with these when we are in the townships of Paro, Thimpu, and Punakha. In Paro, there are lots of dzongs, such as Rinpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang and Drugyal Dzong which we will visit. Before we hike up to Taktsang monastery, we will explore Chorten, nunnery temple, folk heritage museum, and other interesting places. We will also visit the main historical monuments of Bhutan. Detailed Itinenary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Paro then transfers to Thimphu (2,320m/7,610ft) 54 km, 1 hour.

    As we are closer to Bhutan, we will enjoy the view of mountains from our airplane. As soon as we come out of Paro airport, we will see the representative of Remarkable Adventure Trek, holding its signboard, and then we are taken to a hotel in a private vehicle. The representative will provide information on dos and don’ts and other related information, as well as on sightseeing to us.

  • Day 2 Drive to Punakha (1,250m/4,100 ft) 76 km, 3 hours.

    Today, we will visit Chorten, nunnery, and the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, including the Bhutanese traditional painting school and a folk heritage museum. Then we drive to Dochu La Pass (3,100m).through the forest of rhododendron, fir, and hemlock. Punakha, where we spend the night, has Punakha and Thad E dzongs.

  • Day 3 Drive to Paro (2,250m/7,382ft) 130 km, 4 hours.

    Today, we visit Rinpung Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang, Both of these are important monuments in the history of Bhutan.

  • Day 4 Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery.

    Tigers Nest Monastery is a must see monastery of Bhutan because your tour to Bhutan will be incomplete without it.  After exploring the monastery, we hike down to the valley floor.

  • Day 5 Final Departure From the hotel.

    Before three hours, we are picked up for your international flights and transferred to Paro International Airport.

    For your trip preparations Remarkable Adventure Trek provides you with related information and advice required for your adventure holiday trip in and around Nepal Himalaya and beyond, providing you with following equipment list for the trekking. If it’s too much to carry from your home country some of the necessary equipment can be hired or bought in Kathmandu around at Thamel or in Pokhara as well. Most of the equipment is general and standard lists for all seasons while on the trek but may differ as per the season and duration of trekking and areas of your chosen trip.

    For Head:

    • Sun hat or scarf.
    • Light balaclava or warm fleece headgear.
    • Sun Glasses and snow goggles with UV protection.

    For Lower Body:

    • Under Garments.

    Remarkable Adventure Trek operates and runs all high altitude treks and climbs with the support of our expert and veteran guides who has been in these profession for more than two decades, all our guide have undergone with much training and attending workshop on related fields every year like Medical Course with enough knowledge of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) and proper use of Gamma Bag or Portable Altitude Chamber (PAC) pressure bags when required on emergency purpose on high AMS symptoms and to work on minor medical problem treatments.

    Causes of Altitude Mountain Sickness:

    • Altitude mountain sickness is caused by reduced of air pressure with lower oxygen levels at high altitude.
    • The faster you climb to a high elevation, more likely you will get altitude or acute mountain sickness (AMS).

    Symptoms:

    • Difficulty in sleeps.
    • Dizziness or light-headed.
    • Fatigue.
    • Headache.
    • Loss of appetite.
    • Nausea or vomiting.
    • Rapid pulse (heart rate).
    • Shortness of breath with exertion.

     Treatment:

    • Altitude mountain sickness is easier to treat in the early stage.
    • The main treatment for all forms of mountain sickness is to go down (descend) towards lower altitude as fast you can with support of our guide and staff.
    • Extra oxygen should be given, if available.
    • People with severe altitude mountain sickness should be admitted to a hospital or evacuated by any means of transportation the fastest is by Helicopter.
